RECURRING EVENT (SEE ALL)
HLS going remote this year presents a rare opportunity to showcase the amazing work of civil rights practitioners from around the country via a virtual platform.
To that end, Alexander Chen, Founding Director of the LGBTQ+ Advocacy Clinic, has organized a series of Zoom brown bag lunches featuring attorneys from across the LGBTQ+ movement, with an emphasis on showcasing regional, educational, and identity-based diversity. The sessions will be relatively informal: an hour over lunch on Fridays, 12-1 pm EST, where each attorney will talk about their work and their career pathways into the movement. The scheduled speakers are:
Feb. 12, 2020: Peter Renn ’06 (Counsel, Lambda Legal, Western Regional Office)
Mar. 5, 2020: Taylor Brown (Staff Attorney, ACLU LGBT & HIV Project)
Mar. 26, 2020: Harper Jean Tobin (HJ Tobin Policy Consulting/ex-Director of Policy, National Center for Transgender Equality)
Apr. 16, 2020: Tyrone Hanley (Senior Policy Counsel, National Center for Lesbian Rights)
